Glendale Community College offers international students superior academic opportunities, unique cultural experiences, and a friendly campus environment. We are a fully accredited two-year institution of higher education located in Glendale, Arizona, in the northwest section of the Phoenix metropolitan area, one of the fastest growing regions in the United States.

You can enjoy living in Arizona

Students enrolling here are able to complete the first two years of an undergraduate bachelors degree program in a setting dedicated to quality teaching in small classes. Students receive individual attention from instructors while utilizing advanced technology - all at a cost considerably less than larger four year institutions. Moreover, Glendale Community College maintains a close working relationship with all of the major state-supported universities in Arizona, making transfer to those larger institutions easy and convenient.

The citizens of Arizona are noted for their friendliness toward newcomers and for their enjoyment of the beautiful outdoor scenery of their state. In fact, Arizona's exquisite natural beauty, including the Grand Canyon, makes it a favorite vacation destination for Americans as well as tourists from all over the world. The sunny climate and favorable employment opportunities all add to the dynamic magnetism of the "Valley of the Sun".

What is a community College?

Community colleges offer several kinds of programs
of interest to international students:

  • University transfer programs

  • Technical programs

  • Job training programs

  • Basic skills programs

  • Special interest programs

More Americans are enrolled in community colleges than in any other type of higher education institution. Community colleges offer the first two years of a normal four-year bachelor's degree program. Thus, students who attend a community college can prepare themselves to transfer to a four-year institution by completing the lower division courses in the community college instead of in the university.

What is the International Students Program?

Our services include:

  • Facilitating the admission process

  • Providing pre-arrival information

  • Arranging home stay or apartment housing

  • Orientation and academic advising

  • Immigration advising

  • Employment advising

  • University transfer advising

  • Sponsoring club activities

Established in 1994, the International Students Program (ISP) at Glendale Community College has two main goals: to bring more students from around the world to our campus and to provide full services to them once they are here. The ISP is committed to helping students from other countries in all stages of their educational experience.

How do I apply?

The application process is simple. Just be sure to supply all of the following original documents:

1. A completed International Student Information Form
2. A TOEFL score (or other proof of English proficiency)
3. High School (and college) transcripts, grade reports and completion certificates with English translation(s)
4. A completed statement of financial support with bank statement(s)
As soon as all of these are received, they will be reviewed and an admission decision will be reached. Admitted students will qualify for the I-20 Certificate of Eligibility needed to apply for a student (F-1) visa.
