information creation, management and utilisation in scientific and economic
activities.
The Informatics Research Centre (IRC), within the
world ranking Henley Business School at the University of Reading, is a leading
centre for interdisciplinary and collaborative research in the subject of
Informatics. The centre benefits from input of knowledge and expertise from
various subject fields, including Biology, Business Management, Economics,
Computer Science, Construction, Cognitive Science and Systems Engineering. We
are ideally located, just 25 minutes by train from centra London and within easy reach of two international airports. Reading is also at the heart of the country’s
rail and road networks and provides an excellent place from which to visit and
explore other parts of the UK. Our 130 hectare parkland campus provides an ideal environment in which to live
and study, and is home to state-of-the-art facilities.
The Centre of Informatics Research aims to:
- Advance
interdisciplinary research utilising the expertise and competences within the University of Reading
- Undertake
informatics research with support fromUK and EU funding bodies
- Provide
postgraduate education (i.e MSc, MRes and PhD programmes) to meet demand from industry internationally
- Disseminate
and transfer specialist knowledge in informatics and related fields from
academic-to-industry and contribute to the British economy
