Oxford and Cherwell Valley College is located
on three major campus sites. The main campus is
conveniently situated on an attractive riverside location
very close to Oxford City Centre. Most of the courses
designed for international students are based there.
English Language Programme
This programme is offered at all levels, from
elementary to proficiency. Beginners can take one to
one tuition until they reach elementary standard.
Courses of 15, 18 and 21 hours of tuition per week are
available from four weeks to a full year. Part-time day
and part-time evening courses are also offered.
Access to University Foundation Courses
The College offers traditional two-year GCSE ‘A’ Levels
in over 30 subjects. Alternatively, there is a one-year
International Study Programme which combines
academic study and English Language training. The
College also offers an International Foundation
Programme, a one-year programme in Art & Design or
Business Studies. All these programmes offer
progression to a full degree.
Degree Courses
The College offers a range of Honours Degrees in Creative Arts: Graphic Design & Illustration; Design Crafts; Fine Art; Fashion Design; and Media,
Photography & Video. There are also two-year Foundation Degrees in: Business Studies and IT;
Classroom Support; Furniture Design; Beauty Therapy;
Performing Arts; Parenting, Family & the Community,
and Interactive Media & Graphic Design.
Postgraduate Professional Development
One-year courses for graduates who wish to acquire a professional qualification whilst improving their English. The qualifications available include Diplomas in
Marketing; Management; Accountancy, and Hospitality
Management & Tourism.
Vocational Qualifications
Over 200 vocational qualifications are available at
numerous levels in a vast array of subject areas. These
include Art, Design and Furniture; Business; Care,
Health & Childcare; Catering & Hospitality;
Construction; Engineering & Motorsports; Hair, Beauty & Therapies; IT & Computing; Motor Vehicle;
Performing Arts, Media & Music; Public Services;
Science; Sport, and Travel, Tourism & Leisure.
English Language Summer School
The College offers an English Language Summer School held for four weeks in July and again in August. It is possible to attend for four or eight weeks. On the
full-time programme, there are 15 hours of General
English each week day morning and the option of extra
hours in the afternoon.
Teacher Training
The College is also a provider of training courses for
English Language teachers. The Cambridge ESOL
CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to
Adults) and the Certificate in Further Education
Teaching Stage 3 with Level 4 Certificate ESOL for
Subject Specialists (Module 2) are available in both
full-time intensive and part-time day and evening
