Cardiff - The Capital City of Wales

Cardiff is a great place to be a student. Besides our own college, a Further Education College, there are two large universities and the Welsh College of Music and Drama. Although Cardiff is a very cosmopolitan city, it does not have an over-concentration of foreign students and you will find it easy to practice the language here.

Cardiff is Europe's youngest Capital City, achieving its status in 1955, and although it has grown into one of the most vibrant Cities it has not lost its small town quality.

Whatever your interests, Cardiff will have something for you. The City has excellent shopping and is home to the Millennium Stadium which hosts major world sporting events. The centre of Cardiff is surprisingly compact and most of its sights and attractions are only a short walk from one another. The Museum, Civic Buildings and Castle can all be seen from the main shopping areas which have modern shopping centres together with beautiful Victorian Arcades.

The city is surrounded by beautiful countryside and nature lovers will appreciate the nearby mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the spectacular coastline of the Gower Peninsula, which are only a short drive away.

The city is also a thriving centre for business and commerce and the focus of exciting developments such as the Cardiff Bay project.
